49.  MARIA LOUISA⁴ TROUSDALE (WILLIAM³, JAMES², JOHN¹) was born February 10, 1828 in Gallatin, TN, and died June 30, 1906 in Gallatin, TN.  She married BENJAMIN FRANKLIN ALLEN January 31, 1850 in Gallatin, TN.  He was born March 06, 1826 in Gallatin, TN, and died March 04, 1910 in Gallatin, TN.

    A prominent lawyer and wealthy landowner living in the village of Gallatin in 1870 (Census).  His article on Capt. James and on Gov. William (Am Hist Mag VII 4) has been extensively quoted in this genealogy.  Allen's elder sister, Eliza, was the wife of General Sam Houston.

52.  JULIUS AUGUSTUS⁴ TROUSDALE (WILLIAM³, JAMES², JOHN¹) was born 1840 in Gallatin, TN, and died September 1899.  He married ANNIE BERRY April 29, 1880, daughter of HORATIO BERRY and NANNIE SMITH.  She was born 1854, and died December 1935.

    Civil War:  Enrolled Sumner Legion, 2d Tenn (Bate's) after May 03, 1861.  Severely wounded at the battle of Shiloh; served with QM Dept to the end of war.  Member State Legislature, speaker (1893).  Lawyer.  Julius inherited his father's home which, later, the widow presented to the Daughters of the Confederacy (Hist Sumner Co., Tenn Cisco 234).  A description and illustrations of the home are found in the "Nashville Tennessean Magazine", July 11, 1948.
