                        Civil War:  Enlisted Berwick Bay (parish), LA 7 Apr 1861, cpl 1st Fld Btry (LA Confed Sold).  In 1870 he was a clerk, unm, living in Franklin, LA (Census).

19.  JONATHAN3 TROUSDALE (JAMES2, JOHN1) was born April 07, 1780 in Orange Co., NC, and died Aft. 1839.  He married (1) SALLY JOSEY May 21, 1806 in Sumner Co., TN.    He married (2) ELIZ YOUNG February 1818 in Sumner Co., TN.

    Said to have served in War of 1812.  Not mentioned in his mother's pension claim in 1839 and therefore presumed to have died.

i. PATSY4 TROUSDALE, b. March 28, 1807.
ii. ELIZABETH TROUSDALE, b. October 24, 1808.

20.  CATHERINE3 TROUSDALE (JAMES2, JOHN1) was born December 19, 1782 in Orange Co., NC, and died Aft. 1839.  She married CAPT. MATHEW COWAN March 08, 1800 in Sumner Co., TN.

21.  WILLIAM3 TROUSDALE (JAMES2, JOHN1) was born September 23, 1790 in Orange Co., NC, and died March 27, 1872 in Gallatin, TN.  He married MARY ANN BUGG January 30, 1827 in Sumner Co., TN, daughter of SAMUEL BUGG and FRANCES LEWIS.  She was born February 01, 1807 in Mechlenburg Co., VA, and died January 01, 1887 in Sumner Co., TN.

     William TROUSDALE was born in Orange County, North Carolina, September 23, 1790. In 1796 his father, Capt. James TROUSDALE, moved to Tennessee, and settled on a grant of 650 acres of land on which the town of Gallatin was afterwards located. He was educated in the common schools of the county. In 1813 he volunteered for the Creek war, and was elected Third Lieutenant. Took part in the battles of Talladega and Tallahatchie. Re-enlisted in 1814, and was at the capture of Pensacola, and in the battle of
