Nothing is known of the family of this William Trousdale.  His parentage is definite, the Orange Co. Court of November 1797 directing William to prepare the inventory of the estate of John Trousdale, dec'd and in the following February Court approving William as administrator.  There is no mention in the "Minutes" as to details of the inventory or the other members of the family.  William was a property owner in Caswell District, Orange Co. as early as 1796 being taxed on 123 acres and one white poll, this increasing to 248 acres and three white polls in 1800.  (Note:  This reference may, however, apply to his uncle WIlliam.  KT.)  William definitely left North Carolina by 1810.  By 1820 in Stewart Co., Tenn at its eastern boundary with Montgomery Co. was a William Trousdale and his family.  This is identified as being on Blooming Grove Creek, acquired by John Trousdale, jr., the father, in 1790.  William's family consisted of males: one over 45, two 26/45, one under 10; females: one 16/26 (Census).  This appears to be two families.  William Trousdale is not mentioned in the early Court Minutes of either Stewart or Montgomery Cos. although his brothers Alexaner and John are frequently noted.  In the 1830 Census a William Trousdale is noted in the same area, but much younger.  No Trousdale are found in later Census.
